400 Fruit Trees
What I learned about 400 fruit trees is that this is a response to great challenges in climate change. Its about positive opportunities in these challenges such as rebuilding local economies and rebuilding urban food product, and rebuilding a sense of community and a reconnection with nature and the land. It is great to see naturally planted fruit trees because I believe that can help out sustainability in many ways because they our using natural resources very well and also no waist is being used and no toxic fumes is being used and making our planet worse, only better. They really involve the community and schools surrounding the community, I think it is great because they are getting a lot of people involved, and this can be good and used all over the world.

Bryan Ngo: “Part A Conflict”
One technique that I saw was how you have to admit that there is a problem. This really interested me because I hear this a lot on television when the topic is addiction and this topic is similar to that. When admitting there is a problem, that is the very first of this situation is to admitting there is one. Surrendering to the idea that control is an illusion allows one to be proactive rather than reactive which creates opportunity for solution. This really makes sense to me because of the fact how true this is and how it is related to sustainability in so many ways. For example, many people who are not familiar with sustainability do not know we actually have a problem on this earth, they think saving our materials is not needed because everyone will be dead before we lose our materials. But that is not true because our feature is children, and how we treat our planet reflects a lot on how we live it now.
Bryan Ngo: "4.1 Leadership"
The most important things that I have learned about this article is that Brian Bacon was a great pioneer who was also a great leader who developed over 30 corporate turnarounds. And in "Beyond You & Me" book, there was a lot of information that I took and learned a lot from especially the part about how coaching can be applied in an ecovillage. And in ecovillage diversity and democracy among the members is generally honored and even when there is hierarchy, there is more flexibility in who gets to play which role. One goal of mine in the future is to get involved in a solar company that could really save energy on our planet, but also save people lots of money as well. Getting into this, I can be a leader and get more people involved in this, and also help save energy throughout the world.
But doing this, it would take a lot of hard work to achieve this goal because of the fact of having to get the information needed to get across to the customers which I believe is the hardest part because of how sometimes it is hard to get out what you want to do when there is still money involved, I would really have to have a good presentation to show how good this product really is. There would be a lot of barriers involved in starting to do this such as maybe customers not committing to this product and also allies in which there are many different solar companies that offer the same thing, and it would be harder if people are already interested in that product before we could could get a chance to sell ours.

Bryan Ngo: "A Virtual Visit to an Ecovillage/Green Education,"
http://ecovillageithaca.org/evi/
The Ecovillage that I chose to do was the ecovillage of Ithaca. I chose this specific ecovillage because it is located in New York, and this is a place that I have never been to and hope to visit at least once in my life and maybe even live for a little bit. After reading about it, I would like to visit this place in New York because it seems like a peaceful place and it has their own lake and it includes co-housing neighborhoods. The thing that intrigued me the most about this place is that it is a growing global movement for a saner and more sustainable human culture. Yes, there are specific aspects of the ecovillage that I would like to incorporate into my lifestyle even if I do not live in an ecovillage in the future because I really want to live in a co-housing neighborhood. The Bachelor of Science from the Green Education link I was most drawn to because of the fact that it was located in the United Kingdom, I find that very interesting.

Bryan Ngo: "Beyond You and Me: Reading Response 1"
Reading the preface through page 40 of "Beyond You and Me" I learned a lot about interesting new things. One thing that I really found most interesting and learned was Kitezh three elements of developmental environment. This consist of The foster family, which gives the homeless child that which is most important, namely a sense that he is needed and loved. Then it goes to that this perception is essential if the child is to develop properly. The community of competent adults, which provides the child with a safe environment in which s/he can develop the ability to live and work as part of a collective, and which at the same time recognizes the right of each and every person to their own individuality. And lastly there is the natural environment and the architecture, which benefit the child spiritually, guide him to look for beauty and harmony, reduce psychological distress and provide surroundings that are conducive to therapeutic work. I feel this is important because being a mother is hard itself, and this shows a good way to start a good living for the child and it will help give good ideas for a mother.

Extra Credit: Blue Planet Hawaii
Reading about Blue Planet Hawaii, I learned a lot of stuff that can benefit the state of Hawaii in the future. Blue Planet Hawaii is starting up a foundation to help save good energy and supplies as much as they can. In this website I see that they show many different types of energy technology that could be used towards the better of our future. I learned how to measure energy, and exactly what the numbers in this signify. "Rigorous definitions of power and energy can be somewhat difficult to present and understand, but a very simple automotive metaphor actually describes these concepts quite clearly in a way that is sufficient for our purposes here: power is the size of your engine and energy is the size of your gas tank." This is very interesting to me because it is very easy to understand.
Another thing that I learned was that the basic unit of electrical power is the watt and virtually all electrical products such as computer and light bulbs. and these are all clearly labeled to how much electrical power they require for operation. In this website there is a lot of useful information that I could take towards my life and bring it to the environment that I live in. And living in Hawaii for about two years, I see the diversity of alternative energy. “I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait ‘til oil and coal run out before we tackle that.” --Thomas Edison (1847–1931) this is a very important quote that I read and I thought this is a good way to spend money. We need to save our energy for the future because one day we might just run out.
Overall, reading about the Blue Planet Hawaii got me thinking about not only my future but the future to where we live. It is good to care about the environment and where we live and save the resources that we have to live better. We have to be cautious in the way we live our lives and not waist what we have in bad ways. After looking at this website I will try my best to help out any way I can, and for a start, I decided to make a donation to the Blue Planet Hawaii.
