The Ecovillage that I chose to do was the ecovillage of Ithaca. I chose this specific ecovillage because it is located in New York, and this is a place that I have never been to and hope to visit at least once in my life and maybe even live for a little bit. After reading about it, I would like to visit this place in New York because it seems like a peaceful place and it has their own lake and it includes co-housing neighborhoods. The thing that intrigued me the most about this place is that it is a growing global movement for a saner and more sustainable human culture. Yes, there are specific aspects of the ecovillage that I would like to incorporate into my lifestyle even if I do not live in an ecovillage in the future because I really want to live in a co-housing neighborhood. The Bachelor of Science from the Green Education link I was most drawn to because of the fact that it was located in the United Kingdom, I find that very interesting.

Bryan Ngo: "Beyond You and Me: Reading Response 1"
Reading the preface through page 40 of "Beyond You and Me" I learned a lot about interesting new things. One thing that I really found most interesting and learned was Kitezh three elements of developmental environment. This consist of The foster family, which gives the homeless child that which is most important, namely a sense that he is needed and loved. Then it goes to that this perception is essential if the child is to develop properly. The community of competent adults, which provides the child with a safe environment in which s/he can develop the ability to live and work as part of a collective, and which at the same time recognizes the right of each and every person to their own individuality. And lastly there is the natural environment and the architecture, which benefit the child spiritually, guide him to look for beauty and harmony, reduce psychological distress and provide surroundings that are conducive to therapeutic work. I feel this is important because being a mother is hard itself, and this shows a good way to start a good living for the child and it will help give good ideas for a mother.
